The Meconopsis or Blue Poppy takes some work to cultivate. It likes an acid soil. We collect the seeds in the autumn, keep them in the fridge until Spring and propagate in the tunnel until ready for planting. They are well worth the effort.

This damp and shaded area of the garden is the ideal home for Candelabra Primulas, Skunk Cabbage, Rhododendron Sinogrande and Bamboos.
