The deciduous Laburnum tree is in flower in May. The tree is covered with golden yellow flowers and hangs beautifully over the garden seat. This particular Laburnum is propped up due to being top heavy and having a shallow root structure.

Our tree ferns have done well to survive some frosty winters. We take special care to protect them in winter by wrapping them and stuffing the center of the plants with straw.

The Meconopsis or Blue Poppy takes some work to cultivate. It likes an acid soil. We collect the seeds in the autumn, keep them in the fridge until Spring and propagate in the tunnel until ready for planting. They are well worth the effort.
